jlm
This is only a minor annoyance, but I thought I should report it. I've been reading through the Holman Atlas on my iPad, and I've noticed that when I tap on images to make them full screen, the text displayed at the bottom is not the caption, but another paragraph of text that is a bit earlier in the book. In three cases I looked at today, the first paragraph after a heading is used. Here are some examples from pages 3–4 of the atlas. This image shows the context: there's a section header, the paragraph that will wind up in the caption, and two maps, each followed by its real caption. When I tap the first map, instead of the expected caption "Modern States and the Ancient Near East," I get the paragraph that starts with "James Breasted coined the phrase." I wanted to attach a screenshot of this, but I was unable to upload it. The second map gets that same paragraph as its caption, so while the paragraph chosen as the caption is above the correct paragraph, there's not a fixed offset. In three cases, it was the first paragraph in a section. On the other hand, the image of "The Moabite Stone found at Dibon," at the end of p. 123, gets the caption "Hazael" from the middle of the table preceding the image. Helen Brown
Hmm, I got that bug yesterday but it did not repeat today.
ukfraser
I'm getting inconsistent results which are not repeatable. (Dont think i had noticed this before as i tend to look at image and not title). On page 3 modern states and the ancient near east displayed correctly with the correct title. clicking on the The next map in the text also showed modern states... so the map was displaying with the incorrect title. I then scrolled the images forward and backwards and the titles now displayed correctly. I then returned to the text and clicked on the first map again and got p 3 as the title. (See screen shot) I then returned to it and mesopotamiia displayed with the correct title, I moved to the euphrates image in the text and that opened correctly. Went back to mesopotamia and it opened with p4 Moved on a bit and the image opened with the previous title Jlm, i find with colour screen shots i have to crop them to upload. I have asked previously if the file size limit of images to be uploaded can be increased as technology advances. ukfraser
Not sure where it has got this title from. Once an image is open, scrolling between them seems to get correct titles, it just appears that opening an image in the text gives a strange title. jlm
As you have noted, the text that appears depends on how you navigate to the image. So to have an exactly reproducible bug, the navigation has to be reproduced. The most efficient way I can think of to do that is with a link: https://accordance.bible/link/read/Holman_Atlas#43 Use that link to open the atlas on an iPad, and the two maps will be accessible without scrolling. Tap either one, and the caption will be "James Breasted coined . . ." As ukfraser said, swiping to an image causes it to show the correct caption. Graham Buck
Hey all, just want to let you know that I’ve got a reproducible case and am working on a fix. Hope to be out in the next TestFlight beta.
