Using Accordance to Research the 12 disciples

I hope this is the correct forum to ask this question, my apologies if it's not.

I've tried typing in twelve <followed by> disciples and "twelve disciples" in the search box (ESVS) but only a few references to the 12 came up (I was specifically looking for the lists).

So I have two questions:

1) What do I have to type in in order to pull up all the lists of the 12 disciples?

2) Would 'research' be the best place to find all articles related to the 12 disciples?

Thanks kindly!

David, try entering "twelve disciples" into the research box.  Make sure you keep the quotation marks and use the word 'twelve' instead of the number '12'.  The research has a dropdown box so you can limit your search to to biblical texts or tools (or even smaller filters like commentaries or dictionaries) etc,.

Thank you both for your help. When I type in "twelve disciples" it only brings up a couple of references in Matthew. I'm pretty sure the disciples are listed in Mark, Luke and Acts as well are they not?  Should I simply type in 'the twelve'?

Or is there a way to search for twelve disciples/apostles where it'll bring up both terms?

just type in twelve and you'll only find a couple of false hits (i.e. uses of "twelve" that don't refer to the disciples). The problem with adding the word disciples is that they are variously referred to as "twelve apostles", "twelve disciples", "the twelve" and just "twelve".

you can use the drop down search condition (the plus at the end of your search entry bar) and restrict your range to the New Testament (as there are interesting mentions in the Pauline Epistles for instance)

additionally, combining suggestions above, I just did a search for

twelve <AND>

and that's pretty helpful.

restrict the range as mentioned to the NT and you should be good to go.

I was going to recommend a "WITHIN" search using "OR" terms in the Research Tab, especially if you have Jewish resources which use the term "talmidim" instead of "apostles / emissaries."  See this screenshot as a demonstration of my recommendation, but note up front that there is a technical challenge in which all the expected results aren't showing in the screenshot.  There should actually be about 10-20 times more hits. (I'm requesting help with this in another post).
