How to cross-reference resources from passage

When looking at a text, I can click and hold a word to get the menu that allows me to search or amplify.  When I click amplify,   If I click word or Lexeme, it takes me to Monce's concise dictionary.   How can I get it to go to Thayer's (I would like the choice).

Also, I can't figure out a way to get back to the passage where I originally clicked.  When I select 'back', it takes me back to some random passage that I looked at in the past (for me, right now, no matter where in the New Testament I select amplify from, when I click back, it goes to Psalm 137 which is a passage I was studying a few days ago).

Go to Prefs / Amplify / Greek Key Number .... select Thayer.  Triple clicking the word will give you a direct link.

I am not seeing that item.  If I click the font symbol in the top right, then click advanced settings and go to the instant details tab, it allows me to select Thayer for greek, but this does not appear to affect the amplify settings.

Triple-clicking in the android app doesn't appear to do anything.   The whole Android interface is very confusing.

@Cnthetford,

There is no triple-click on the Android interface. Long tap and then use the options that pop up.

What version of the app are you using ? In this case I don't think that's going to matter much but please mention the version in the post so. It often does have an impact.

You don't specify whether you are amplifying from an OL text or a modern lang. text.

If you are using a key numbered text it looks like lexeme will show up for amplify on a modern lang text. Ok.

So how to set it.

You cannot on the Android app, at this time, amplify to a tool of your choice. It is only going to go the tool in your settings. It would be a nice feature for sure but it's not there at present.

Go into Settings->Instance Details and set the Greek tool to Thayer. If you are trying to amplify from the OT from a modern lang text set the Hebrew tool to whichever one you want also.

As to confusing nature of the interface, feel free to make enhancement suggestions in the forum. But the i/f is necessarily different due to the dominance of touch/gesture. And of course the feature set is as yet much more limited that that of the desktop app.

EDIT: Just removed some incorrect info.

Thx

D

My apologies Cnthetford, I failed to notice that you were speaking about Android.  I wrongly assumed you were asking about a PC/Mac.  Sorry, I don't use Andriod.  I hope דָנִיאֶל's answer was of some help.

Paul.

I am using version 1.3.1.

I am generally coming from either ESVs or ESVi (not sure I fully understand the difference).  I click and hold and want to see the info on the Greek. I tried changing the tool to Thayer's, but it didn't seem to affect anything.

I will eventually collect all of my enhancement requests for the interface and post those.  I've only been using the app for couple of weeks now and want to be sure I've thoroughly explored it.

ESVi is the free ESV module that ships with Lite and is installed by default in the Android app. Generally once you have the real thing it's never used.

ESVS is the ESV with Strong tagging.

If you are amplifying from the OT setting the Thayer for Greek has no impact. You need to set a Hebrew tool as well. I had that issue myself while testing. So where are you amplifying from ?

Thx

No.. I make sure I am in the New Testament when I"m doing it.  I would like to get the OT Septuigent, but am not prepared to pay $80 or whatever it costs! :)

Ok, I'm not sure why this isn't working for you then. I am using the current beta which is later than what you are on so perhaps that's it. If you get onto the open beta (I think you can do that via the Play Store) you could try that.

Thx
