Cnthetford
I am fairly to to version 12 (windows) and need help with something. I search the Greek NA28 for the word κατά. I show the pie chart and it shows a solid circle with 261 hits. I change the view to 'Case' and it shows 236 Accusitive, 24 Genitive and 1 Nomitive. I click on Nomitive and see a solid circle with the 24 hits. My goal is to list the verses associated with those 24 hits. I've tried double-clicking, triple clicking, right-clicking.. nothing seems to work. So I notice that at the top, the search condition is: κατά@[ANY Genitive] I enter that string in the search window (and it is set to search by word), but it tells me there are no words found. Can someone help me here? Also, of the mounds of videos that I am wading through is there one of them that illustrates this particular operation? Λύχνις Δαν
Hi ya, What you want is : κατἀ@[prep genitive] Now when I run that I am not getting the numbers you are getting. In fact a basic search for κατἀ yields 400 acc, 74 gen and 3 nom in the NA28 Greek NT. Now I am doing it on Mac but they should not differ on this. But perhaps you've restricted the range in the NT you are searching. I don't know. I just mention it in case something else needs attention. Helen Brown
Genitive in prepositions is not the same as the other genitives. The case on a preposition means the case that it takes, i.e. on the related noun etc. It does not mean genitive as in "love of God" where God is in the genitive. Therefore the ANY tag will not find the case of prepositions.
Cnthetford
Yeah.. my range was the Epistles (that is what I wanted but had forgotten about that). "κατἀ@[prep genitive]" worked, although I am still a little perplexed that this is not what Accordance shows in the graph. It seems like if the search in the pie chart (link below) yields 24 results, that the search should yield that from the search bar. https://1drv.ms/u/s!AvopDnqd5yHvm7ApzZ8S-pcz6OVsSQ Thanks for the helpful tips though! Λύχνις Δαν
Ah I see how you got that then. That sounds like a bug to me. The chart should be labelled as κατἀ@[prep genitive]. Thx D
