Accordance iOS 3.0

Thanks for all the incredible work the team at Accordance has done in the new 3.0 version. I am enjoying the new features immensely.

I noticed a possibility bug. I know one of the features in the new 3.0 version is that any changes in the Library folder will be synced to other devices. So I arranged on my iPhone all my English Bibles, International, Hebrew and Greek texts in separate folders with a unique icon. But when I synced using Dropbox, the arrangement I used in my phone did not show up in my iPad, I synced using the same house WiFi and I did not see any reflection of a change. Am I doing something wrong or is it a bug.

Thanks again for all your devoted work to the Lord.post-35594-0-71434500-1557120957_thumb.jpegpost-35594-0-54261900-1557121022_thumb.jpeg

One more comment might help. I tried syncing my bookmarks across my devices, and they reflect the same choices everywhere. It’s just the folder syncing I am having problems with. I thought this was an important issue to bring up since Dr. J mentioned this feature in his most recent podcast.

The synching of folders is via the WiFi syncing from the Mac (and Windows when it works) but not between mobile devices themselves.

Thank you Helen. I unlinked my iPhone from Dropbox so I can sync using Wifi on my computer and received an error message as seen in the attached screenshot. At this juncture I am not sure of the next step I need to take.

What I think I need is to understand the settings that should be on my Mac 10.13 and my iPhone and iPad in order to accomplish Folder synching. I assume all devices need to be set to the same preferences. Perhaps using the option in the Accordance Desktop Dropdown menu to "Sync with Mobile devices" means I do not need to change in any settings.

Thanks!

I'm sorry you've had an issue with syncing. Considering the new library features with v3.0 we're finding new areas for improvement. There will be coming soon an update that should take care of many of these issues.

In the meantime, try this and let me know how it goes: Do a wifi sync between phone and desktop, but uncheck all user items (notes, papers, user tools/texts, etc). If that works try each of those skipped sections one at a time. If one of them breaks the sync and you get this message again, could you let me know the names of the contents in that section? If you're reticent to do that in a public forum, feel free to send me the information in a private message.

Thanks!

Graham:

I went through the process of syncing via WiFi both my iPhone and iPad. Everything went seamless unlike a few days before. Everything found on my desktop now matches everything on my mobile devices. I no longer received any error messages. For clarification, these are the steps I took:

1. On my desktop I activated synced with Wifi

2. On either one of the mobile devices, I went into settings, to User Content Synching>Sync Action Button>Always Sync via Wifi

3. In Library Mode I activated the sync and on my laptop I could see my iPhone/iPad. I then connected and Accordance did the rest based on the selections I chose in the syncing interface.

Thanks for your help.

We’ve identified a number of issues related to the new folder syncing. Hoping to have an update ready shortly. Thanks for the report and I’m glad to hear things worked for you that time.
