jbsgroup
Hello, I have a bible on MSWord.docx and I was wondering if it can be imported into Accordance? I also have it in PDF if that helps. Note: it can be imported into another bible software and hopefully it can for Accordance. Thanks,
Fabian
Yes it is possible. But it has to adjust to the Accordance format. You can do it with Regex. This tool unfortunately works only the other way round. Greetings Fabian Edited May 22, 2019 by Fabian
Graham Buck
You can absolutely import your bible text. Have a read through our help file on this activity: http://accordancefiles2.com/helpfiles/Win12/Default.htm#topics/05_dd/importing_bibles.htm%3FTocPath%3DDigging%2520Deeper%7CImporting%2520Bibles%7C_____1 That link is to the overview. Follow through to 'Preparing the Text' and 'Importing Your Bible' for the full process. My personal workflow would be docx->html->txt. The first step is the trickiest, as html output from Word tends to be pretty ugly. I've found this free site to help with the basic clean up: https://word2cleanhtml.com. Then you can use a plain text editor like Notepad++ to do your search/replace magic. Like Fabian said, a basic understanding of regular expressions will help with making that task much easier. Here's a good resource for that: https://www.regular-expressions.info/quickstart.html I hope that helps. And good luck!

jlm
You can also convert .docx to clean HTML (or plain text) with Pandoc, a command line tool: https://pandoc.org/ Edited May 22, 2019 by jlm

ssel
Hi everyone,I am longtime Bibleworks user, and about a year or so ago, switched to Accordance. The more I use it, the more I like it. I have a private translation of the Bible in Indonesian language that I want to import into Accordance. After reading the thread above, I wonder if anyone can share the .txt file of any standard Bible, like KJV or anything else, that Accordance reads, so that I can just use that as a template, and basically just copy and paste my translation over the KJV. That way I don't have to make the book and verses structures anymore, and just focus on the content.
Fabian
Hello ssel I can send you this. Do your privat translation use the Standard KJV? Verse 0 in some Psalms. Or like the KJV without the verse 0 in Psalms? Fabian

The Standard KJV, you can export by yourself. --> Command-T --> Show only references --> Command-A (to select all) --> But if your bible is nearly finished I would work with this. ssel
Hello ssel I can send you this. Do your privat translation use the Standard KJV? Verse 0 in some Psalms. Or like the KJV without the verse 0 in Psalms? Fabian My translation do not have verse 0, in other words, in certain Psalms, the background info at the beginning of the Psalm will be verse 1. The Standard KJV, you can export by yourself. --> Command-T --> Show only references --> Command-A (to select all) --> Bildschirmfoto 2020-07-23 um 15.43.55.png But if your bible is nearly finished I would work with this. Fabian I am using the Windows version, and Ctrl-T (we don't have Command) opens up the Set Text Display box. And I don't see the Als Text sichern (which I translate as: Save Text As..) anywhere on my menus.
Fabian
Sorry for not answering your Question. I forgot this post. And we can't make unread, as I do it in the Mail Apps. Was you able to import the Bible? If not I'm willing to help you. Fabian
