Clint Cozier
I'm being forced to consistently Force Quit Accordance (12.3.4 and 12.3.5b2 on macOS 10.14.4). I use Dropbox to sync between my desktop and iOS, but for the last week, the program freezes when the Performing Dropbox Sync dialogue appears. I cannot stop the sync, Accordance is unresponsive and the only way out is to Force Quit. I can (sometimes) sync using the Sync with Dropbox / Accordance menu. The menu command works about half the time, the other half it freezes and cannot be stopped. No changes to my Dropbox account for the last several months. Jazzy
Clint, I have been experiencing the same issue on my MacBook Pro, and MacPro desktop for at least the last 4 months. This morning I finally decided to check the forums to determine if anyone else is having the same issue - hoping for a resolution. I personally do not like forcing an application to quit each time I use it - in this case, it is daily. What has also been rather odd, but not a show stopper, is that it never displays for me the number of tasks that are on deck for syncing on the actual machines. It only shows this detail when I'm syncing on my mobile devices. I'm thinking my current work around may have to involve turning off automatic syncing with Dropbox when quitting the application. From there, manually syncing with Dropbox when I open/close the program. Testing this approach this morning does provide complete success - I just have to remember to do it. (As a side note, I am running Mojave on both noted computers with the latest version of Accordance.)
Silas Marrs
If you un-link from Dropbox on both machines, then re-link, does the problem still happen afterwards?
Tim Hall
Yes, I have unlinked and re-linked both my iPad & my iPhone, to no avail. The iPhone will sync, but only the Title Bx of the papers show. Accordance still shuts down everytime I attempt to sync with Dropbox. Silas Marrs
If you're willing to do a bit of troubleshooting, go into your Dropbox preferences and uncheck all the options about which items to sync. See if the problems still happens. If it doesn't, reengage the options one at a time til you can get it to happen, then let me know the results. Silas Marrs
Whichever of these is easiest for you and is experiencing the problem we're troubleshooting. Edited March 18, 2020 by Silas Marrs
Tim Hall
So ... I went to Accordance on my computer to change what is synced. Here's what happened: On the iPad syncing with Dropbox crashed the app every time. On the iPhone, nothing–the notes are fine, the user tools are fine, everything seems fine except the papers. For them only the title box is appearing. They are all fine on the computer, though.
Joel Arnold
I would be glad for some feedback on the stability of syncing highlights files. Trying to sync things I lost my work maybe 5 years ago when the file corrupted and was irretrievable. Is that still a problem or have things gotten more stable. Thanks in advance for any input you can give! Edited April 12, 2020 by Joel Arnold
