Knox Bible Translation

Hi, just wondering why accordance doesn't have a more modern Latin derived English translation than the 17th century Douay Rheims Bible? The language is too archaic for using alongside the Latin Vulgate. Thanks.

To be fair, the Douay-Rheims most people know is the 18th century revision of Bishop Challoner. So it's not quite as hard to read as the original. That being said, Monsignor Knox's translation is easier for modern readers, although it still retains thee and thou. I have nothing against those pronouns, but I've never bought a copy because I don't find it literal enough. It's a good Bible for reading through, but less helpful if you're trying to work out the meaning of the Latin.
