jlm Posted June 9, 2019 Share Posted June 9, 2019 To be fair, the Douay-Rheims most people know is the 18th century revision of Bishop Challoner. So it's not quite as hard to read as the original. That being said, Monsignor Knox's translation is easier for modern readers, although it still retains thee and thou. I have nothing against those pronouns, but I've never bought a copy because I don't find it literal enough.
