Greek Construct Problem

I am trying to do a very simple Greek Construct search patterned after what I saw "Dr. J" do on a very early video, but the results have been less than desirable. What I am trying to do is get Accordance to remove intervening characters between my two search items (Paul and the nominative in succession). My attached picture shows my setup.

My question is, what am I doing wrong? Why am I still getting the intervening characters, when I've asked Accordance to remove them? I have done this search on both my Windows 10 and Macbook, using Accordance 12, with the same results.

Paul, I don't see your attached picture.  Can you try posting the image again?

Hi Paul, as Joel has said, the image hasn’t attached and it would be interesting to see what you have tried. If you can’t get it to attach, (you will need probably to use the “more reply options’ button in the bottom right corner of the posting pane). Otherwise you are welcome to email it to me. Ksimpson (at) accordanceBible dot com.

Having said all that, open your construct, drag LEX into the first column and select Paulios from the word selection pane. Drag ANY into the second column and then type ‘nominative’. Drag a WITHIN item above the two and let the drop down arms join them, and then type the digit 1 into the first entry box and you can leave the second blank   That should do what you want. When I grab my Mac later I’ll post a screenshot.

To remove any intervening characters it is usually easiest just to specify that the words must be adjacent. If you want to make sure specific words or types of words don’t intervene, then it becomes more complex and you need to use the INTER box with various negating options.

Hey Joel, I think I found out my problem by following Mithril's (below) instruction. I did not originally use the ANY function in the second column. When I did, and then repeated what I had been doing last night, voila! I worked.

So, thanks for at least wanting to help. I appreciate it.

Ken, your instruction worked! Thank you!
