Beloved John
Hello, Currently, when I hover my mouse over any Strong’s numbered text like the KJVS or NKJVS, I get the definition from the Mounce Greek Dictionary. This is fine, except what I need it to do is use my Nestle-Aland Novum Testamentum Graece (GNT-T) as the base text. For example, the word ‘understanding’ in Ephesians 1:18 is transliterated as ‘dianoia‘ in the Stephanus’ 1550 Greek New Testament: Textus Receptus (GNT-TRS), Strong’s number: G1271. On the other hand, my Nestle-Aland Novum Testamentum Graece (GNT-T) text uses a different Greek word here for the English word ‘understanding’. The GNT-T Greek word is transliterated as ‘kardia’, which is Strong’s number: G2588. For now, my workaround is to bring up the GNT-T as an alternative text, and hover my mouse over the Greek words to see their definitions. But, I am hoping for a way to set things up so the dictionary definitions that define the words in the GNT-T when I hover my mouse over them can also be the same definitions I see when I hover my mouse over the English words in the KJVS, NKJVS, etc.. Easy peasy!
miscutaruben
You can solve your problem by configuring your preferences. Open the tab called "Preferences" and then the "Amplify". Then make sure that you have selected the correct options (in your case, the Strong Version) for "Greek" and "Greek Key Number" as it shown in the picture (nr.1). In addition, to avoid other inconsistencies it would be good to set right also the "Source Texts" from "Compare Text" menu (picture nr.2). Λύχνις Δαν
Hi John, I may not be quite following you but if I understand what's going on correctly you are using KJVS (or NKJVS) and when you mouse over ‘understanding’ in Ephesians 1:18 you want to see the Strong's tag for καρδἰα rather than for διανοἰα. That isn't going to happen by changing Accordance configuration. The reason is that the tagging is on the text itself. And it keys the text to the OL which from which is was translated. The KJV comes ultimately from the Textus Receptus and at this point in Eph 1:18 that text has διανοἰα whereas in the NA it has καρδἰα. Thus if you are using KJV the key number for this word is G1271. If you instead open ESVS which is translated from a version of the NA text it is tagged with G2588. Thx D

All I need to do is change the Bible text to NASB 1995 (NAS95S) or ESVS, or just add one of them as an alternate text next to my preferred KJVS and NJKVS Bible texts. The objective is to see the Nestle-Aland text definitions in the Instant Details window via mouse over of the Bible text tagged words. I can accomplish this on both iOS and Mac. Gratefully, Brother John P.S. Thanks for your help miscutaruben.
