So I have a really huge list of references (3000) and I want to create a quick graph where I can show people how these are spread across the Bible. I could just search for * <AND> [LINK to my window] but that's going to give me a hit for every single word in all of those verses, so longer verses will appear as more weighty in the graph than shorter verses. I really just want one hit per verse. Is there a way that I can get a hit for only the first word or something like that - basically just one hit per verse in a verse list? Thanks!
How to get a hit for the first word of every verse in a range...?

[FIELD BEGIN] <WITHIN 1 Words> *
will find the first word of each Verse (if you leave the Scope set to Verse.

The answer is no, you can not have Accordance Mark only the first Hit for each of the words you're searching from your linked word list.
Obviously, you could do this manually. Don't forget that a text window can be set to Show References Only; and that Marked verses can be transfered to a Verse Reference List.
(Helen, from your confusing topic title, thought you wanted to search for places where those words were the first word of a verse.)

Actually, what Helen said nailed what I wanted. I wanted to be able to generate a graph that would represent one hit per verse for all of the verses I have in a large reference string. So it worked great. But a big thank you to you both for your time and help!
