Joel Arnold
Is it possible to use the compare texts feature with passages located in different places? So for example, I want to compare the Greek of Matt 1:23 with the LXX of Isa 7:13. Is there a way to do it? https://accordance.bible/link/read/ESVS?Matt_1:23;_Isa_7:14 Edited October 26, 2019 by Joel Arnold
Λύχνις Δαν
Not that I know of. I tried a parallel pane with a combined text but it only shows either OT or NT not both together. In the end I opened ESVS with the vs search as you gave, then LXX1 in parallel and NA28 in parallel. That allowed manual comparison. I tried INFER but that won't highlight differences. Benjamin Gladd
Interesting! I’d welcome a feature such as this.
Mark Allison
You can use the INFER command to do this.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Gsd7iHP1pY&feature=youtu.be
Benjamin Gladd
Doesn’t the compare feature underline the differences?
Mark Allison
Doesn’t the compare feature underline the differences? "Compare" only compares the same verse/s across two or more versions.
Benjamin Gladd
What about something alone the lines of the MT-LXX parallel? It would be an LXX-GNT parallel that could display differences/similarities.

Λύχνις Δαν
simplest for now is grab the two verse and drop the text into a diff tool: This is splitdiff in Atom. Of course for a single case that is this clear no need, but perhaps for more verses that might serve, or even just to double check you didn't miss a difference. Helen Brown
Of corse you know that the OT in NT Parallel will display most quotes side by side in Greek and in any other language. We have often been asked to allow for Compare in the Parallels view, but the variations are so great that it's an almost impossible task. You could try the INFER search on narrow ranges, and use lexical and inflected searches and compare the results. The Search Back feature reverses the search.
