Summaries for different Hebrew Modules

Is there a good summary piece somewhere on the Accordance site (or elsewhere) which generally explains the differences between the BHS-T, HMT-W4, and the BHQ modules?

BHS-T and HMT-W4 are basically the same text with different tagging and apparatus. BHQ is the new addition of the critical text (replacing BHS) and it is not yet finished.

I would add that if you plan to use the Hebrew syntax modules one is based on and must be used with the HMT-W4 text. That is the Holmstedt syntax model. If you want to use the syntax model out of WIVU in the Netherlands you will need the ETCBC Hebrew text.

Thx

This question would make a good explanatory blog post. Adding the idea to my todo list. Thanks!

Another big difference between BHS-T and HMT-W4:

  • BHS-T - includes the critical apparatus notes
  • HMT-W4  - includes ketib-qere

Unfortunately, neither includes both. I'm sure it has to do with licensing.

I also have the BHS-W4. How does that compare with the BHS-T?

Differences between our primary Hebrew Bibles.

a. HMT-W4 (https://www.accordan...ils/?pid=HMT-W4).  This is our 'main' Hebrew text.  It includes the Westminister morphology. It is compatible with the Holmstedt Syntax database (https://www.accordan...d=HMT-W4.syntax).  This is also receiving the most updates as necessary.

b. BHS-T (https://www.accordan...ails/?pid=BHS-T).  This is our 'main' Hebrew text with apparatus.  It currently uses the Westminister morphology, but attached to text that follows the BHS instead of Leningrad.  It also has the apparatus markings throughout the text to link to the BHS Apparatus information.  However, there is currently no Syntax database that connects to it.

So, HMT-W4 works with the Syntax database, but not with the apparatus, and the BHS-T works with the apparatus, but not with the Syntax database.

This is the old main Hebrew text. Have a look at this post from Joel : https://www.accordancebible.com/forums/topic/21414-bhs-w4-to-hmt-w4-update/?do=findComment&comment=104399a couple of years back.

Thx
