I would like to know if anyone have used both or either of them, because I want to choose which one I should buy............. Thanks...... Ron Webber Posted December 19, 2008 Share Posted December 19, 2008 SESB 2.0 contains a number of sources that the Mac Studienbibel does not have.The LOGOS package contains an additional 13 modern language translations, the UBS 4th Edition Greek text w/ apparatus, and some lexical works (non-essential, in my opinion). Otherwise the packages are fairly similar in their offerings. But the Libronix package comes at a price; in fact well above twice as much: $325 over against the $150 Accordance package ($135 with discount). However, the greater cost for me involves user experience. Accordance's user definable window layout of the language resources is both simple and elegant. The software performs instantly on my aging 1.67 PowerBook G4. I do not have the same experience on my newer PC running the Libronix engine in my office. Yes, some of my preference comes from personal bias, loyalty to the Mac platform, and appreciation for the folks at Accordance and their software, but the matters of price, usability, and performance also involve objective and quantifiable factors. If I were making the purchase, Accordance's Mac Studienbibel wins hands down. More affordable, better user experience, more Macintosh. I think those modern translations of other languages aren't so much useful to me, as I don't know any of them.....at least in the near future. The MT, LXX, and NA27 texts in the SESB 2.0 package are morphologically tagged. Since I already own grammatically tagged texts from Accordance's scholar's library this was not important to me. However, if you do not already own the tagged Accordance texts, you would have to purchase them along with the Mac Studienbibel to produce an equivalent package. You could pick up the basic scholar's package with tagged Hebrew and Greek texts right now for $139 ($125 with discount). Both the Scholar's Introductory package and the Mac Studienbibel would still be cheaper than the LOGOS edition. I thought I'd better clarify this. But, all of the individual products that were contained on it do work with the iOS app. If you have a specific question on one of the products I'd recommend posting that to a separate thread.
