Λύχνις Δαν
Hi ya, I've started learning Attic composition and things were just not great with the keyboards I had. The EZAccent keyboard had one particular key combo that didn't work with my setup. Not sure why, but frequently enough used that it was a problem. I tried the Microsoft polytonic Greek for a bit and that resolved that issue but then I want to be able to type alphabetic numbers and use the dexia keraia diacritic (the sign for a numeral) properly and it couldn't generate that. In addition it's layout was not as nice as EZAccent leading to the need to memorize many combinations. I went looking for another keyboard. I finally found one from SCS, the Society of Classical Studies. It's not free but it is an excellent combination of well thought out layout and coverage. It costs $20 unless you are a member which I'm not. But it works really well and you get both Mac and Win layouts for the same price. Of course it also has ancient characters mapped in it too, sampi, digamma, koppa and so on. Anyhow figured I would pass it on in case you have been looking for a decent keyboard : https://classicalstudies.org/publications-and-research/about-greekkeys-2015 I'm only using the Windows one at the moment but I'll get around to installing the Mac one eventually.
