Your advice on best method of highlighting

I admit upfront that I haven't yet read instructions on the new highlighting / pen / whiteboard features, so I'm appealing to the experts here for your advice...

I'm comparing the terms used in Lev 23:40 and Neh 8:15 (see attached screenshot).  I tried using the pen to draw circles manually around certain terms, and this looked nice (at first). But it seems that as soon as I scrolled down to the next verse to look at context, and then returned back, my drawing was gone.

For instance, the first phrase in Lev 23:40--"peri etz hadar"--had both underlining and circles drawn around it at multiple points, but I keep losing it, which is a bit frustrating.

Then I thought I would just use my standard yellow highlighting, with the shortcut Ctrl+8.  Frustratingly, that doesn't work--at least, the shortcut doesn't work--perhaps because this is in a Text Browser window.  (I already complained about this here, with no response yet).

So, here's what I'd like: I want to be able to mark up what you see in the screenshot (attached), and then scroll up or down in the two window panes; and then return, and still have what I put there intact.  What is the best way to do that?

(I know that I could just use the screenshot itself and manipulate it any way I want, but... I thought Accordance was supposed to allow for all this within the program itself.)

Hi

Not related to your question but where did you get the JPS 1917 from? One of the things I really miss with the accordance Commentators set is it is only new JPS - well that and the fact you replace the way the book is set out which is beyond what software can do

I have the 1917 in Accordance.  Anyone who wants it, contact me directly and give an email address.  Duplication is permitted for noncommercial use.  I haven't uploaded it to the Exchange yet.

Back to the main purpose of this thread: if I may comment, I'm actually surprised that no one has any input regarding this question.  I know that I have a lot of unique issues and questions related to how I use Accordance, but I would have thought that many people would jump on this thread, since Accordance is making such a big deal about new highlighting features (and I've seen many people post about highlight-related issues over the last year).

For instance, one of the current threads right this moment: Accordance 13 Sneak Peek #4: Next-Level Highlighting & Markup

But nobody has any input on this question of mine?  Surprising.

TYA, it looks like you found a few, minor, issues in the Text Browser that we'll get fixed:

1) The cursor doesn't change when drawing highlights in the Text Browser.

2) The Cmd-8/Ctrl-8 should be working in the Text Browser.

3) The Selection Controls to add highlights are missing in the Text Browser.

We'll fix all three issues.

You may have been drawing in Whiteboard mode, which is why they wouldn't stay.  Any Pen drawings I make stick to the verse I draw them in.  In general, though, I recommend you learn about the different tools and ways to access highlights, perhaps through some of the tutorials.  You have lots of different options available in v13.

Does this also take into account the (either) difficulty and/or impossibility of adding bookmarks to a text in the Text Browser?  I believe I posted this also, but to reiterate: I can only sometimes get a bookmark to stick in a text in the Text Browser.  This seems to be related to highlights (or the highlight shortcut) not working in Text Browser.

I recommend you learn about the different tools

Yes, of course; I know to do so; but as I said, I just wanted quick suggestions.

By the way, the laptop I use is a touchscreen, and it has a stylus.  I never use the touchscreen, but when Pen / Whiteboard was introduced, I decided to try it.  It didn't work nearly well enough to be useful to me, but to be fair, that could be a result of multiple things (and probably is).
