Accordance 13.0.2

Windows 10

I would like to download an unvocalized Hebrew Bible text for my Accordance 13  on windows 10.

Can anyone point me to a source?

(The exchange has an item but it looks like it is for Mac and it doesn't dowload to my program w/ double click)

May you ask Michel G. Distefano. So he import his source with Accordance 13 again. Then there are also the new (12.3) unicode to Yehudi conversion which let you better read the Hebrew. Then this will be also as RTL. In the meantime since the compilation of this Bible there was also a fix for import User Bibles created on Mac to import in Windows.

But you have to wait, because at the moment Accordance 13 is buggy and fails by the import of unicode User Bibles. When this is solved it would be good if he compiles a new one.

Greetings

Fabian

I have one but it needs some adjustment. The words in brackets from the HMT are now without brackets and without a space. Maybe you are willing to correct it?

I have found other texts, but they had all some other issues, which was from my perspective more damaged.

Or Maybe one with a Windows BW can export the UWTT and create a User Bible. On this text there is no ©.

I don't mean to sound negative, but I'm just really curious... is it just me, or does the importing of User Bibles have some kind of semi-predictable bug issue that crops up every few minor releases of Accordance?  To put it another way, is there a good reason why users like us (who import many User Bibles) have to encounter bugs and glitches over and over again.  Can the problem not be solved once and for all?

(For disclosure, I'm not personally experiencing import problems now; but then again, I haven't tried anything non-English lately.  Yet, I still have my list of other bugs and glitches hanging out there to be dealt with, such as 6 or 7 items related to PDF import, general lag, etc.).

To put it simply, handling of User Content is tricky.  There are near-infinite varieties of combinations of content, so attempting to handle these things creates far more complex algorithms than much of the rest of the program.  Thus, there is a higher chance that, as part of our on-going efforts to improve the underlying codebase, one of the unintentional bugs affects a Bible Import.

While I don't have near the knowledge of programming you do (and much less, programming Accordance, specifically) I think that I can sympathize, or grasp what you are saying.  Perhaps, it is sort of like a fine-tuned instrument or machine, which, being susceptible to multiple factors, could be thrown off by a variety of things.

In other words, my personal ideal of "set it once, and lock it down permanently" is only an ideal, but in reality, there are so many moving parts, which ultimately necessitate a constant "tuning" to clear up unexpected bugs which surface.  Do I have a decent understanding here?

And of course, regardless of my understanding, I want to make it clear that I'm always grateful for all that Accordance does.  I believe it's done with a good spirit, with a right motive, and a sincere desire to bless the user.

Thanks for the sympathy :)

As much as we would love to "set it once, lock it down", this is 100% completely impossible in programming.  At a minimum, you always are fighting against the following things changing:

1) OS we compile on

2) OS we compile for

3) Version of the IDE (aka application that manages and compiles our code)

Then, on top of that, we are always moving forward to a cleaner, better, more forward thinking and future proof codebase, so we can make other improvements.

The Unpointed Hebrew Bible on the Exchange installed and runs fine for me. You do need to have it display as separate verses, however.

I'm using it on Win10, and double clicking the acc7 file ran the installation automatically.

Update

Billy from Support is terrific.  He solved the problem.

Billy wrote me:  "There were some unusual characters in the name after I extracted the file. I right clicked on it and rename the file (by removing the unusual characters) to UHB.acc2 . That seemed to fix it."

Thanks Billy!
