How do I delete the new pen highlights

The new pen highlights are easy enough to create, but how do I delete them (see attached example with red pen markings)? I can't seem to delete them with the eraser.

Try clicking the eraser over the ends of the line.

Unfortunately, my pen highlight feature is not working on my Windows 10. I make one line and it freezes; i.e. stops working altogether and the few mark ups disappear too.

I've tried that multiple times, but all it seems to accomplish is the deletion of parts of any underlying highlights (e.g., removes highlighting from a single letter in the word underneath the line). Very frustrating...

I finally got it to work by deleting most of the highlights around the lines, and then deleting the lines. There seems to be a problem erasing when you've got a high density of highlights around a line.

I still can’t create any links to a text I want to highlight and link words. It keeps freezing.
