mtpeterson
I'm looking for recommendations between these two Accordance packages. I have some experience analyzing variants used written catalogs but, I saw a demo of Olive Tree's package (see video here) and I am now persuaded that I will be unable to live without an automation package of some sort. I'm currently using 12.3.7 and already have the NA28 Bible with Mounce parsings. Thanks, in advance Blessings, Michael Edited March 7, 2020 by mtpeterson
John Fidel
Hi Michael, Go here and find podcasts 29.1 and 29.2 for a good review of the Text Critical resources available in Accordance. Much more in-depth that the video you referenced. I think it will help you purchase the best resources for you. https://www.accordancebible.com/Lighting-The-Lamp-Podcasts
JonathanHuber
My favorite text critical resource is Comfort's textual commentary. It goes beyond just listing the variants and helps you understand them. https://www.accordancebible.com/store/details/?pid=Comfort+Text+Commentary
John Fidel
The CNTTS is a very specialized product. I suggest in addition to the videos above you may want to view the CNTTS demonstration using BibleWorks just to see how it is designed and used. That video would be available on YouTube along with some others.
mtpeterson
Thank you, everyone! John Huber: As I am reasonably fluent in biblical Hebrew and getting there with Koine Greek, I was hoping to use an apparatus that would let me do language specific studies. But thanks for the reference. A friend of mine uses Comfort's and he loves it. John Fidel: As I am a former Bibleworks user and still have it installed I'll take your advice and play with CNTTS for a bit. Right now, I'm leaning toward purchasing the NA28 apparatus. However, the suggestion to learn more about text critical analysis in general by using the CNTTS is well taken. Thanks again and Blessings to you.
