dandennison Posted March 22, 2020 Share Posted March 22, 2020 Hello, The other guys have deal for seminarians and Bible college students to get about 9GB of resources that are accessible for the next 60 days. The idea is that your library is closed, so why not fill up your Bible software with stuff that expires about when your library will reopen. The high level concept of a trial, expiring or subscription module is very interesting. I don't know if Accordance team has given it much thought, but as an option to try out certain resources I think it has its place. I would NOT be interested in this mode replacing purchase-to-own for any module. The nice part about Accordance is that when you buy it, it's yours. I don't want the modules on my Mac if I can't open it. This fill my HD for nothing. Only they hope I activate it again. Bandwidth is one of the reasons why we have to download everything to our phones to have access to it. The only good thing is that at least we can choose what to download or not. Because I don't live in an English-speaking country, I'm not familiar with many of the commentary series, dictionaries, etc. I've never seen them in a bookstore, and it's hard to find them in a library. The screenshots give some idea of the content, but it's a very small sample. Being able to look at some large fraction of a book, like 10%, or being able to use it for a few days or a week, would give me a better idea of its usefulness. I've sometimes resorted to Kindle samples, but it doesn't work well for commentaries, because you tend to get the introduction to the book, but little or no actual commentary. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

As has been stated elsewhere, the sample screenshots are too limited to give an accurate idea of the resource being sold. My usual Tuesday morning is spent checking the current sale offers and information provided by Accordance, searching for reviews of the books of interest, and then reading previews of the books, if available, as mentioned.
