TEXT command help error ?

Hi ya,

I was looking at the TEXT doc. and I noticed that the example for Manuscript or Tagging Differences says that the example query finds " to find instances where a masculine noun in the NA28 Greek NT is rendered as a feminine noun in the GNT-Sinaiticus". But the query rather appears to find a masc noun followed by a word that the GNT-SI tags as feminine. It looks like the query should have an @ in it, but the results clearly show pairs of words selected.

Am I missing something here ?

Thx

D

I see the error in the help documentation. Yes, there should be an "@" symbol between the two commands. We'll get that corrected asap.

Thanx Mark. I think the example needs to be rerun as well and the images updated.

Thx

Thanx Mark. Though now that's it's correct I am wondering about what it is showing. I'll need to play more.

I think it means that for every masculine noun in NA28, take the lexeme and go and look that up in the GNT-SI where it is tagged as a feminine.

If that's correct then I assume that every instance of such nouns in the NA28 are highlighted.

Specifically, this query is not saying that, for example, ἑκατόναρχος at Mt 8:8 is tagged as feminine at Mt 8:8 in the GNT-SI. Is that correct ? Part of the issue here is the given hit count is low enough to suggest that vs ref is included.

I don't actually have GNT-SI to check so I can create another test to check.

Thx

D

That's right. ἑκατόναρχος is tagged as masculine in the GNT28-T, but feminine (e˚katonta¿rchß)  in the GNT-SI.
