Accordance has worked fine on this laptop and no changes that I know of.    I even deleted and reinstalled and it's dong the same.     It crashes on startup.   Could someone please help me?   Here is the crash log:

Try installing 13.1.4 and tell me if the problem persists.  https://www.accordancebible.com/Accordance-Installers

Looking at the crash log, the crash during startup is happening as it loads a user notes file.  If you have several, I don't know which one.  At a guess, the dropbox crash may be happening when it tries to download this same file.  If I'm right, you should also be able to temporarily avoid the crash by moving your "User Notes" folder somewhere other than your "Accordance Files" folder.

Can you send me your user notes file/files, and I will try to see what's wrong?  I'll send you my email address in a private message.

Any success with this? I've reinstalled 13, then tried to revert to 12. I've moved the user files out of Dropbox onto the desktop. When that didn't work, I moved all Accordance files out of Dropbox. I get nothing on startup except indications that my PC is working hard--no splash screen and no shading of the icon to show that it is being used.

I should add that 1) it doesn't get far enough to generate a crash log, and 2) it uses so much system resources that I can't even type until I kill it via task manager.

I killed all the dropbox processes in Task Manager and then reinstalled ACC13. It still crashed, but at least got far enough this time to generate a crash log.

Philip, I recommend calling tech support.

You can find their contact info here:  https://www.accordancebible.com/contact-us/

Tell them I said the crash seems to be happening when loading one of your user notes files.  If they can figure out which one, I'd like a copy of it, assuming you don't mind sharing it.

Thanks, Silas. I'm grateful for your response.

Calling from Australia is expensive, and the time difference is problematic, so I would never do that.

My IT support at work managed to delete some things and kill a few others to the point where I now have a working version of Accordance on my PC with everything except good syncing of my notes across platforms. I set up Accordance on my Mac and will use that til the next version of Windows appears, at which time I'll do a fresh install and try again on the PC. Not the end of the world for me, but I imagine others who don't have access to both Windows and Mac will be disappointed.

This may be related to the suspected-malware problem when accessing the installer.

I've only recently started using Accordance (just a few months), and my PC version froze when using multiple monitors and when updating modules. This was resolved recently, but after updating to version 13.1.5 today, Accordance froze on startup - can't quit, can't access menus, need to force-quit with Ctrl-Alt-Del.

I resolved this by downloading the installer from the Accordance site using a browser that is not Chrome and not Edge / IE. After reinstalling, Accordance isn't freezing on start up now.

Note: getting a corrupted installer when downloading via Chrome was a known issue, but the 'what's changed in 13.1.5' list suggests that the application uses Microsoft Edge or Microsoft Internet Explorer internally when the update is initiated from within the application - such as when clicking 'ok' at the box asking if we want to upgrade from version 13.1.4 to version 13.1.15. Perhaps one or both of the Microsoft browsers also treats Accordance as malware and silently removes functionality from the installer.

About Accordance support - one conversation was all it took. I called from Australia and the support staff offered to call me back once it became clear that the call might take awhile.

I wish I caught the support staff's name, his grasp of possible underlying issues resolved a problem that might have led me to give up on Accordance eventually. I now can see why people rave about Accordance support.

Also, the time-zone difference between Australia and the US can't be helped, but check out the international options with your mobile phone service provider. I happened to look into this when data usage went through the roof. Some of them are now including international calls to the US etc for free on reasonably-priced plans, or they might charge $1/month instead of $10/month.

Thanks, Silas. I'm grateful for your response.
