Is there way to quickly browse or go through the photos in the photoguide without having to go back to the other tab, remember where you were up to and click on the next photo? I'm hoping for something like right and left arrow, but that doesn't seem to work.

I'd recommend detaching the tab with the photo, and rearranging the workspace and now-separate window (cmd-i will automatically tile windows) so you can see both at once.
