Encyclopedia Judaica

Is there any thought of getting the Encylopedia Judaica as an Accordance Module? It is available on CD-rom (see here http://www.jewishsoftware.com/products/66.asp) and is an invaluable resource on Judaism. This would be a great asset. The Encyclopedia Judaica CD is only available for PC (or Virtual PC) which is another good reason for Accordance to pursue it.

Thanks, Danny Zacharias

Yes, we seriously considered this some years ago, but it is such a massive and complex work that we felt we could not justify the amount of resources that would be required to make ac acceptable Accordance module. We are looking into some alternatives.

It is a large undertaking, I agree, but well worth it. And I say go big or go home. It is the standard, so why settle for second-best. Logos has The Encyclopaedia of Judaism, but not nearly as authoritative and comprehensive. I think Accordance is the best, so go with the best.

Fine! You are willing to forego all other Accordance development and new modules for one year? Maybe other people would be less happy about that. Or are you offering to invest the $100,000 (guesstimate) that it would cost us to convert this module?

Is it any larger than the Word Biblical Commentary module coming up? Seems about comparable. Secondly, I wouldn't even have mentioned it except that I know it has already been put into electronic form for PC. Does this not cut down the time and costs for making it an Accordance module? (this is a genuine question, I am not a tech expert).
