Brent Lawrence Posted October 2, 2005 Share Posted October 2, 2005 I noticed that you can import an HTML document to become a User Tool. I have a database of approximately 400 sermons that I exported from Filemaker as an HTML document. I then imported it as a User Tool in Accordance. When I began to try and update the tool, the update went extremely slow. I would type and then get my multicolored mouse circle until the change was made. I typed in the word "Chronicles" and it literally took 45 seconds to 1 minute for that change to be made. Importing a straight text document moves very quick and this is what I will use. But updating a user tool that was imported from an HTML document was painfully slow. Is this normal? Why was updating so slow? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Helen Brown Posted October 2, 2005 Share Posted October 2, 2005 Brent: Large user tools are always slow to update since they have to be re-indexed each time. However, it is most important to break them up into articles. Are there titles that appear as such in the browser? If not, the first priority is to add some titles (or blank lines), or perhaps to add more. If there are none perhaps you should go through and mark the sermon titles as headers (no scripture references) in the HTML and then reimport it.
