kcjimmyk
I am trying to create a new user tool with a document I created with Mellel. First I export it into MS word, it comes out fine. Then I save as HTML file, it comes out fine. But when I import the HTML file into a new user tool, it randomly (I think) drops spaces between words. 2,600 paragraphs. Hundreds of missing spaces. I know I could copy and paste from Mellel but when I do that it doesn't tag the Scripture reference links. Am I doing something wrong? Mac Pro Intel quad core, Acc 8.4.6 (it does the same thing on my iMac) Any help appreciated. TIA Jim
Helen Brown
I suspect that you have line breaks rather than spaces at the end of each line, and this is what is causing the dropped space. See if you have an option not to save with line breaks.

In the first line there is not a line break between "and" and "prosperity". And "the" and "word" and "be" and "corrected", etc. Hope this helps Jim
Tom Childers
Jim, I have experienced the same problem and never found a solution. The only work-around I have found is to do a search for space and replace it with two spaces. Probably not the best, but at least the words do not run together. Helen Brown
The screenshot helps. Notice how all the run together words are at about the same distance from the start of the line. I still think they were originally line breaks.

Helen Brown
I didn't see any run together words in this one.

Helen Brown
Sorry. Why don't you post a screenshot of the raw html, i.e. source, or send me the file and I will take a look at it.
kcjimmyk
Helen ~ Never mind! I found that if I export the Mellel document to RTF and open and save it with Text Edit to HTML it works fine. (another big minus for MS Word) Thanks for your help! Jim

(another big minus for MS Word) Glad you discovered that. I was just about to chime in and point out that Word has a lousy reputation for the way it generates HTML.
