Bob Kuo
Hello all! For a Greek independent study this summer I will be investigating the translation style of Amos in LXX. I currently have the premier version of the Scholar's edition and was wondering what other modules I should pick up. Probably the MT-LXX add-on and also the NETS translation. I'm wondering - should pick up Swete's apparatus? Also, this is my first foray into Septuagint studies, I'd appreciate any suggestions on directions I should go with my study. Thanks, Bob
Helen Brown
You will only need the MT-LXX Parallel not the add-on since you have the LXX. NETS is a great resource. Our Swete does not yet include Amos. I'll leave it to scholars to comment on what other resources you might want.
Robb B
Bob, As far as Accordance modules, the premier scholar's and MT-LXX Parallel are what you need. You might also check out these print resources for your study: Aejmelaeus, Anneli. On the Trail of the Septuagint Translators: Collected Essays. Kampen: Kok Pharos Publishing House, 1993. It's a fascinating study.
