Blue Search Button

I have a tendency to be a bit clumsy in hitting or bumping keys while I am simply reading or studying pages in Accordance while on the computer. I occasionally hit a button inadvertently and the blue search button lights up when I really don't want to perform a search. I know that in scripture tabs, one can double-click on "verses" and the blue button disappears, but you then are back to Gen 1:1; not necessarily where I was reading. In commentary tabs, even restoring the asterisk does not dim the highlighted search button, and if I then shut down Accordance, when re-opening to the tab in which I was reading, that page is now blank and unless I remember the page number which I was on, I have to use the "browser" arrow to try to find the general area I was in and then manually search until I find the page that I was reading. Surely, there must be a simple way to "un-highlight" the blue search button, but I can't seem to find it in the user manual. Any help would be much appreciated (and time saving for me). Thank you very much for any help you can provide.

The blue search button simply tells you that there has ben a change in the search criteria and the search results below may no longer match the criteria. The only way to get rid of it is to run the search again so that you do have a match. Restoring a previous argument from the History menu stll requires you to run the search. However, if you quit and reopen your saved or last session, Accordance will run all the searches in the open windows.

Without actually seeing your workflow I dod not quite understand what your problem is and I cannot offer specific advice.

I'm really not trying to do a search. I simply bump a key accidentally and it would be wonderful if there were a way to "un-highlight" the blue search button and simply continue the reading that I was involved in.

You can simply continue reading and ignore the button, but you will lose your place on restart.

As they say, "I've been there and done that" which is why I raised the question. It seems like there should be a way to cancel the highlighted search button. Thanks, anyway for your help!!

Actually, your best move may be the Undo, Command-Z, which should restore the search argument for you, if what you are doing is inadvertently editing it. The button will remain blue, but if you quit and return, you should be fine. You cannot just turn off the blue button or its function becomes useless.
