Hello Friends,

Hoping for a little info concerning the possibility of importing a non-Accordance electronic book into Accordance as a searchable text. I'm assuming this is a possibility.

Thanks in advance.

Ok, so I watched the podcast and read the thread and have successfully imported a couple of texts as txt files. Can anyone explain the best way to outline txt files to take advantage of the Accordance search functions? I can bring up the number of hits, but not all of them appear highlighted in red and I have too much surrounding text, etc to make the search useful.

The "best" way would be to add title and sub titles with different font sizes (if I'm understanding your question correctly). You can do this directly in Accordance by editing then clicking in the gutter (formal term for that white space on the left).

If you really want more then that, I would suggest you follow the route that Dr. J uses: Edit the text in Word then save as HTML.

Thanks, Mike. I'll try both ways. It's just a very large document that will take a lot of work to edit.

Best
