Brett K.
I want to make sure I don't have something messed up. I have an Application Preferences folder in my Application Support folder and my Preferences folder. Is this correct? Out of curiosity, if this is correct, why? Can they be combined. Thanks -- Brett
Brett K.
Anyone have any info about this? Thanks -- Brett
Joel Brown
The main preferences folder in Application Support is for normal users, the backup preferences and set of defaults for new users. So, if you remove your user preferences, they'll be recreated from the Application Support preferences. Also, system-wide changes will show up there, such as new modules and such, while user specific changes such as search display settings will remain in the user's preferences folder. So, there should be two, and I'd recommend leaving it as such.
Brett K.
Ah, that makes sense. I was wondering why they both contained what appeared to be the same file. Thanks for the info. :-) -- Brett
