Accordance 9 Installation Error

After running the Accordance 9 Upgrade Installer from version 8, I got this error message:

"An error has occurred while Accordance was trying to migrate your modules to a new location. Please do not attempt to run any version of Accordance until you contact technical support for assistance."

This is really wacky and I'm dead in the water. A check on the support pages does not seem to have an answer for this problem.

This is our standard email reply:

If you get the message that

An error has occurred while Accordance was trying to migrate your modules to a new location

Please check in /Library/Application Support/Accordance

If you see Accordance Preferences there, you just need to find the missing files. Accordance may have failed to move them because they were not in the Accordance folder, or because you do not have permission to change them.

You can look in any Accordance folders elsewhere on your Mac for these files and move them to /Library/Application Support/Accordance:

Atlas files folder

Time data

any files ending in words, roots, .info, .format, .syntax

Read Mes and Manuals & Documents (into a folder called Documents)

Text modules to Modules/Texts

Tool and Parallels modules to Modules/Tools

Almost always simply placing these files in position allows Accordance 9 to find them and run correctly.

I helped several people with a screenshare yesterday, and in most cases we had to move the entire Texts and Tools modules to /Library/Application Support/Accordance/Modules/ as the ones in Modules were empty, and if they had Atlas Files or Timeline we had to move those to /Library/Application Support/Accordance/.

Once we did that, Accordance 9 ran perfectly and we could get rid of the old Accordance folder.

It looks like I'll need to reinstall. Accordance still did not launch after giving read/write permissions to the Acc Preferences folder and moving it to Application Support.

Thanks, Roger

I do not recommend a reinstall. I recommend letting us help you with a screenshare session. You do NOT have to move the Accordance Preferences, but it seems that in many cases you just have to move the modules into their correct new locations. We are looking into why this is a problem for some users.

All the Accordance folder/Modules folders are empty, including Texts and Tools. A search for "KJVS" comes up blank also, even though it is in /Library/Application Support/Accordance/Modules/ Texts. This is consistent with a blank search for the missing NIVGK text, among others.

So, what is the procedure for a screen share?

Thanks, Roger
