Location of Files?

Help, I'm losing my mind.

I want to do a simple thing - I want to see the size of all my modules in Accordance (will they fit on my iPad???). But I can't find them anywhere.

I remember they used to be an a folder ~/Library/Application Support/Accordance - but that doesn't seem to exist. In fact I can't find a folder for Accordance anywhere.

I'm running the latest version (9.0.7) and it is working fine - everything pops into place when I run the program, but I can't find the files -- Where are they????????

Geeze, and I'm supposed to have enough brain cells left to work on my sermon tonight.

Thanks for your help

Dave

It could be either in the user Library or the hard drive Library. Check both.

Gee I feel silly - it's right where Helen & Mike said it would be. I kept looking in my user Library and in the /System/Library file and just glazed on the /Library directory in the hard drive root directory.

I wonder why the Finder search doesn't list the folder at all? (I've run the search multiple times to make sure I'm not being a total idiot - I even rebooted just in case.)

In any case, my iPad is big enough to handle all the modules and more! Whoo hoo!

Thanks for your help Mike & Helen.

This is actually a quirk of OS X spotlight. There are thousands of files the system deems comparatively irrelevant for searching, and thus excludes. They are called the System Files, and includes preference files, Application Support, and others. I highly recommend you go through this quick process:

1) Bring up a Finder Search window (command-F)

2) Under the type menu (probably called Kind), select Other...

3) Scroll down to System Files, and hit the checkbox under 'In Menu'

Ta-da! Now, whenever you *really* want to check every file on the hard drive, just set System Files to Include, and it'll make sure to get every single possible file there. With mine set to Include, it finds the Accordance files right away. Be warned, of course, you will also potentially get lots and lots of other less relevant files, especially if you are searching by content.

(As a bonus, I also like to check 'File invisible' as the other handy thing on my menu, from that same list. With System Files and visible *or* invisible files, I'm sure to find it if it exists)
