Charlie Reading
Folks, Please integrate the WritePad handwriting recognition engine by PhatWare (http://www.phatware.com/developer) for user notes, at least as an option. At least for me, using a stylus (or even a finger) for note taking (especially on the iPod Touch) is much faster/better than using the keyboard. An example of a current non-PhatWare app that does this is Underscore Notify, by Underscore AB (http://www.underscore.se/notify/). Apparently, the API allows you to detect if WritePad is installed, and use it if present (http://www.underscore.se/community/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4162). Thanks, Charlie Reading

Although the WritePad engine is certainly not free and we would most likely have to charge for it's integration in the iOS app to cover the royalty costs. And we would have to see much more requests for this type of functionality for us to consider taking this on. Thanks for the feedback and suggestion, Scott. Charlie Reading
WritePad support in Notify is optional. In order to get it, Notify uses an "in app purchase" of the WritePad engine, so I don't know if it would cost any more than the development time. Phatware provides a way to determine if the engine has already been purchased. The next version of Notify will automatically hook up to it.
