Pasting Rosetta into Mellel Question

I am attempting to paste text typed in Rosetta in a User Tool to Mellel but I lose some of the formatting. I have various words/portions of words in italics, superscript, and subscript. I lose all three of these when I paste into Mellel. When I paste, it pastes as Lucidia Grande.

In the User Tool, I have it display the text (i.e., not the edit window) in Times. I have my G & H settings set to export as Unicode which applies to anything typed in Rosetta (I presume). When I turn off "export as Unicode" the italics remain, but the superscript and subscript are lost (though those letters/words remain the correct size). For the sake of future compatibility, I need to keep it all in Unicode.

My goal is to be able to paste my transliterations with the three formatting styles I mentioned (italics, superscript, and subscript) in tact and in Times or Times New Roman.

What do I need to do to make this happen so that I don't need to reapply these styles after I've pasted the text? Any help will be appreciated.

These are two separate issues. The standard clipboard does not support superscript, and Accordance does not yet support it in copying even within Accordance. I thought we were working on that, and will look into it.

The italics issue is also a clipboard issue, and it's the one affected by Unicode. Lucida Grande does not have an italics style, but it seems that the clipboard is not keeping the bold style either.

If you save the text as an RTF file dows that solve any of your problems? It keeps all these styles for me.

Sorry for the hassles. I will consult the experts and try to get back here to post an answer as to when these issues might be fixed.

Thanks for looking into this further.

Saving as RTF is a good enough work around for now. It keeps the italics which is huge!

For superscript and subscript... saving as RTF keeps them in their correct position, but once I paste into mellel I have to convert it to true superscript and subscript. I think the problem is that in User files superscript and subscript are not true superscript and subscript. You just change the font size and reposition it up or down with the arrows. My guess is that if you could do true superscript and subscript in the User files, then it would stick when saving as RTF (or exporting in another fashion). Possibly not, but I'm not proficient enough of a tech guy to know one way or the other.

Is this something that could be included in a future rev?
