iOS 5 and the iCloud

I know that our modules are not backed up in iTunes. We've reasoned that most our users have Macs. Those that don't can still re-download modules directly from our website.

However, now that I have iOS 5 and am backing up to iCloud, I am wondering if I am also backing up my Accordance modules to iCloud. Anyone know? If so, is it being done with the "documents and data" section? Again, if this is happening, would it make it easier to add the "syncing" feature some of our users have requested?

Just curious...

In the current version of the iOS app, Accordance modules are stored in a folder that is not backed up either during iTunes syncing or the daily iCloud backup. This is per Apple's recommendation for handling content that is re-downloadable. User generated content (user notes, user tools, highlights, and settings files) are stored in a folder that is backed up during iTunes syncing and via the daily iCloud backup that happens when your device is connected to WiFi and plugged in to a power source.

Support for data and document synchronization via iCloud will have to be explicitly added to our apps. But wouldn't it be neat to edit or add a user note or highlight on the Mac or your iOS device and have it "auto-magically" appear on your other Macs or devices. I know I would. ;)

Awesome idea. Sounds like a great Christmas gift from Accordance... I hope Christmas comes early this year. :)

That would be awesome! You have my vote on that one.

About the only thing I can guarantee about iCloud support is that it will not be in the next release. But lots of other good stuff will be.

Any timeline when we might expect that new release? (like my kids ... I have no patience http://www.accordancebible.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Scott, if there was a +1 Million button I would hit it for this. Do it, PLEASE!

In fact, I'm increasingly annoyed at anything that doesn't push information between my devices without needing to sync. I actually stopped using Things for just that reason!
