Adding Modules from Old CDs

Hi:

I just got a new computer and decided to do a clean install of all my apps. I have some modules on CD that I can't get from Easy Install. I would like to simply drag and drop them into the Texts and Tools folders. Could someone remind me where these folders are? I seem to remember that they are not visible any longer.

Thanks,

Chances are that you are running Lion, in which case you will need to gain access to your ~/Library/ folder. You can do so by holding down option while clicking on the Go Finder menu. Then navigate to: ~/Application Support/Accordance. You will find your folders there.

As of Accordance 9.5.x I believe, you should be able to just double-click the modules from the CD, and they will be copied over and added to Accordance automatically.

Hmm... I just ran into an interesting problem. I found that I had some modules that were in my Library list on my iMac, but not on my new MacBook Pro. This was after downloading everything in my Easy Install list and getting everything I could from old CDs. Some of the CDs had files that were too old to be used on the current version of the OS. But some of the missing modules were newer modules that I think I should have found on Easy Install.

As for the first group of missing modules, I thought I would just copy them from my iMac, shrink them, send them to my MacBook, and add them to my folders. But I found that James' suggestion, though it works on my new MacBook, does not seem to work on my iMac. So I have no visibility of my texts and tools on my iMac to copy and send them to my MacBook.

As for the second group, somehow I have the new NIV Study Bible notes. I am not sure if these were updated from the original notes or not. If so, I cannot get the original notes because I cannot access them on my iMac to send to my MacBook.

Any suggestions as to how I can get all my modules on my MacBook?

The files could be located at /Library/Application Support/Accordance, at the root Library, rather than your User library.

Steve,

I don't know how savvy you are with navigating the various directories of OS X. A great tool for a birds-eye view of your drive is Space Gremlin (in the App Store). I don't recall the price, but I think it's under 4.99.

Please note that really old (pre Accordance 5.7) modules will not open with a double-click. Accordance can open them with the Open or Add Modules commands, convert, copy to the correct location, and install them in the Library.

We plan to post some of these old modules for Easy Install (even though they are no longer available for purchase).
