How Can One Search a Harmony?

Enoch

Recommended Posts

I just tried a number of times (without success) to search a harmony/gospel parallel module.

I wanted to search for βασιλεία and see the occurrences in parallel columns (in similar passages) in the 4 Gospels as parallel passages. However, when I tried to paste βασιλεία into the search window, it was mutilated to basilei÷a

and it would not search. When I highlighted βασιλεία from Mat 4:17 and right-clicked to search lemma, Accordance presented results in a new window, not in the gospel parallel window and there were no parallels resulting.

A check of Accordance help gave me the comforting advice that

"Any module../../SkinSupport/ExpandingOpen.gif that opens in a tab that has an Argument Entry box can be searched in a manner similar to texts."

However, I guess the parallels module doesn't open in a tab, even if it has a box that argues with the user.

The fields in a Parallel are just the Scripture reference, the pericope numbers and titles. You can only search these directly. These are simple databases of just these items, and then you select which texts you want to display. You will need to search the text itself in a search tab, and then amplify from each verse to the Harmony to display the parallel verses. There is no shortcut to this.
