fmcfee
Hi, I have been trying to find a way to search ,Codex,MSS,Papyrus etc and the specific Scripture references they refer to in "THE CENTER FOR NEW TESTAMENT TEXTUAL STUDIES NT CRITICAL APPARATUS".. For example I want to know all the specific scripture references that P45 refers to or 1845?..the results would list all the scripture references that P45 supports... I am a beginner at "text criticism" too!....but it seems the search criteria is limited....it would be nice to search all 3rd century references and so on... Thanks for your help! Rick Bennett
For example I want to know all the specific scripture references that P45 refers to or 1845?..the results would list all the scripture references that P45 supports... This can be simple or advanced. Here's a very simple option; let me know if you had something else in mind: Select the Manuscripts field and enter: ∏ 45 (that is shift-opt-p for the papyri symbol). You must use the space:
fmcfee
Rick, Thanks for your quick reply...that sorta works...I can get to the chapter and verse in analysis but I would like to be able to see all the verses together that p 45 supports like a regular Accordance search does....I appreciate your help! Frank PS I assume there is no easy way to get the dates (3rd AD, etc) because they are in the instant details and not part of the information for each codex,etc.. Rick Bennett
There's no way to view a list of the chapter and verse like you are alluding to, but in principle this search will list every verse for which P45 has a reading. This would be the same info as simply looking at a static list of its contents. Here's a shot of the contents from Comfort and Barrett (GNTPAP-M Notes): Now if you wanted to know every place where P45 supports the reading of the NA27, that's a different question and one that is also possible with a search in this resource. Add another field to search and choose Variation Code. Then enter 0 (which means Notation for Base Text, i.e. NA27). You also need to change the search scope to paragraph (click the search icon in the search entry box and select paragraph). Let me know if this helps… Edited March 8, 2013 by Rick Bennett
Rick Bennett
And no, it isn't possible to automatically search by a MSS' date; the data is not indexed in that manner.

Frank PS It looks like there is no way to link to the GNTPAP-Notes (From CNTTS) since P 45 is given a different reference number....no problem...I will do a manual search when I need to.....THANKS AGAIN for your help!
