syoung
Hi, In looking at buying a new DVD/CD-ROM for the purposes of upgrading, I read, "(a few require a new unlock code)." http://www.accordancebible.com/products/upgrades/index.php My question: In upgrading, if I don't want to buy a new unlock code for whatever reason, do I lose the ability to use that module in accordance? Or will my old module still work (even though I've upgraded other modules via the DVD/CD-ROM)? Thx, Steve
Justin Burt
Look at this page here. From what I can see, there seems to always be a change in the name of the module when a new purchase code is needed. For example, the HMT-T was upgraded to BHS-W4 and the GNT was upgraded to GNT-T. This would mean that your current modules would still work, they just would not be upgraded. Hope this helps.
Helen Brown
Yes, all old modules work in a newer Accordance but may be missing updates, corrections, new features, etc. If we charge for a module upgrade it reflects a new contract and royalties and/or a complete redo of the module on our part. Cameron
Yes, all old modules work in a newer Accordance but may be missing updates, corrections, new features, etc. If we charge for a module upgrade it reflects a new contract and royalties and/or a complete redo of the module on our part. So, if I understand it correctly, major edits (moving full version numbers) would usually include upgrade fees, right? (ie, from 7.x to 8.x) One other thing, If I want to change from my current 7.x version to 8.x version, is their an easy way to do this through an internet download? I am now a missionary in South Africa, the mail is sketchy at best - and they tell me not to trust anything valuable to the mail system (people)...What is the most affordable, most direct way to manage this? Your guidance is MOST appreciated! Thanks, Cam Love my Accordance!
Helen Brown
You can download version 8 for $39 and it will download and update some but not all of your modules. If you send an email to the sales staff they will check what you have and suggest the best upgrade to be shipped, when you have that opportunity. Timothy Jenney
Hmmm.... Missionary to South Africa? Helen, surely we need an Accordance seminar there. I hereby volunteer myself!
Cameron
Yep, I'd attend it too! As a matter of fact, the mac is just now taking off here in South Africa, and I have been sharing "accordance" as the only real bible software option - for the study tools it brings with it. I'm looking forward to seeing some South African purchasing before too long ;-) Have a Blessed Day! Cam
