Accordance 10 is the all-new release of our fast and powerful Bible study software. This major upgrade adds new features and customization options while offering substantial improvements to the design and usability of Accordance.
Accordance 10 is now available for Mac and is coming to Windows in 2013.
You can choose from six primary Collections based on your Bible study needs and budget. Our biggest Collections offer the most value as they include premium commentaries and original language tools at huge discounts. Our Starter Collection is perfect for those on a budget, providing a foundational set of Bible study tools for just $49.99.
You can purchase additional modules at any time from our online store at www.accordancebible.com/Store. We offer a wide variety of Bibles, devotionals, original language tools, commentaries, and Bible dictionaries, with more being added all the time.
When you first buy Accordance, you will receive a download link for the program installer. Future updates of Accordance 10 will be free and can be installed via a convenient in-app updating system. Purchased modules can be downloaded directly into Accordance from the Easy Install menu in the application.

Your Library is where you access all of the Bibles, texts, and tools you own in Accordance. You can search your library by title, author, or publisher, and results will populate instantly as you type. You can also organize modules into folders and subfolders for quick navigation. This level of customization and accessibility makes it easy to quickly find what you are looking for.
Accordance 10 introduces a new customizable toolbar at the top of your workspace. A convenient drag-and-drop interface allows you to add or remove icons as you see fit, resulting in a toolbar full of icons you use all the time and clutter-free of those you do not. You can even rearrange the placement of icons and the amount of spacing between them for a truly personalized toolbar.
Accordance offers an incredible level of control over the appearance and layout of your workspaces.
Flex Search is a new feature of Accordance 10 that finds variations of the words and phrases you search for. Specifically, Flex Search will find all inflected forms of verbs and all singular and plural forms of nouns. This mode also allows words to occur out of order or to have other words in between them. For example, a flex search for the phrase “build houses” will yield results for “build houses,” “building a house,” and “the house that King Solomon built.”
Exact Search is the traditional way of searching in Accordance. This mode offers incredible precision, finding only the results that match your specifications exactly. You can refine or broaden your search using a set of commands and symbols.
Exact searches can also be set up graphically in the Construct window using an elegant drag-and-drop interface. In addition to the powerful search commands and symbols found in other exact searches, the Construct window also allows tags that define spacial, grammatical, and syntactical* relationships between words.
*Requires the Greek or Hebrew syntax add-ons.
Accordance lets you search every module in your library at once with the Search All bar—now conveniently accessible from the Toolbar. Search All also lets you define specific groups of modules to search, such as commentaries, dictionaries, or journals. You can even search for specific types of content, such as Scripture references or images. These features combine in powerful ways, allowing you to search groups of modules for related content. For example, you can search all your commentaries for Scripture entries on Psalm 23 or all your graphics tools for images of a shepherd.
Accordance offers a highly efficient form of searching known as amplifying, which allows you to search for any word or phrase just by selecting it in the text you are reading and then clicking the Amplify icon in the toolbar. For example, if you are reading about the Ten Commandments in Exodus 34:28 you can amplify to a dictionary article on the topic by selecting the phrase “Ten Commandments” in the Bible text, clicking on the amplify icon in the toolbar, and then choosing the desired dictionary. You can also triple-click on any word to quickly amplify to your default dictionary or lexicon. This method of searching is much faster than opening a new module and manually typing in your search.
Accordance offers a powerful suite of analytics tools designed to help you interpret your search results and discover significant patterns and trends in the Bible. Some of these tools will help you discover the “big picture” of where search results occur throughout the Bible while others will allow you to break down results to find very specific data. Not only are these tools informative, but they have also been completely redesigned in Accordance 10 and look fantastic in PowerPoint and Keynote presentations.
The Instant Details window provides useful information about words, references, notes, and footnotes you hover over with your cursor. In Bibles, Instant Details offers a wealth of information such as key numbers, transliterations, parsing information, English definitions, syntax, or grammatical information depending on how the respective Bible is tagged. Hovering over a cross-reference, note, or footnote will display the full reference in the Instant Details window. This is much faster than jumping to a different location in the module you are reading in order to look up a reference.
Our interactive 3D Atlas* is an incredible way to explore the world of the Bible. You can completely customize the appearance of the Atlas and the information that it displays. Choose from dozens of predefined sites, regions, and routes, or dive into the user creation tools and define your own.
*Available in the Essential Collection and above, or as a separate add-on.
If you want to gain insight into when biblical people lived and biblical events occurred, our interactive Timeline* is just what you are looking for. You can choose from a predefined list of regions, people, events, and books from the ancient world, or you can add your own with the user creation tools. You can also select from conservative or critical dating schemes, and all of the included dates can be edited.
*Available in the Essential Collection and above, or as a separate add-on.
The Dynamic Interlinear in Accordance goes far beyond what you will find in traditional interlinears. To start, the Dynamic Interlinear is compatible with every tagged Bible in Accordance. That means you do not need to buy standalone interlinear Bibles since you can simply add the Dynamic Interlinear to any tagged Bible. The Dynamic Interlinear is also completely customizable, which means you can add or remove lines of information from a convenient drop-down menu. This allows you to create unique interlinears, such as those that stack multiple English translations or even original language manuscripts for text criticism purposes.
With a single click, you can compare two or more Bible translations side by side in parallel panes. Variations between texts are shown by a distinct set of colored highlights that show where a word is missing, added, or replaced. This makes it easy to see how similar or different translations are, and the highlights make it easy to find where specific deviations occur. You can even compare two or more original language texts by comparing words, lemmas, or tags. This is especially useful for scholars who want a quick way of finding variations between a group of Greek or Hebrew manuscripts.
The Hebrew and Greek syntax modules* allow you to view and search the syntax of the Hebrew Bible and the Greek New Testament. These modules display as beautiful syntax trees, using colored arcs to show the syntactical relationships between words.
These syntax trees will scroll in parallel panes alongside your Bible.
The syntax modules also unlock new search options, allowing you to search compatible Greek and Hebrew texts with syntactical tags. They also add syntactical tags to the Construct window when searching graphically.
*Available in the Ultimate Collection, or as separate add-ons.
Accordance helps you stay on track with a Daily Reading plan. You can choose from one of our included Bible reading plans or follow along with a devotional that is sorted by date. When you select Daily Reading from the toolbar it will open your default tool right to today’s entry. Any Bible passages mentioned in the reading or devotional will display in a parallel pane for quick reference.
Accordance makes it easy to take notes as you study the Bible and keeps your notes organized by verse reference. All of your notes are attached to individual Bible verses, allowing your notes to scroll in sync with your Bible.
When taking notes, you can customize the font and style of your notes using the toolbar at the top of the edit window.
You can also sync your notes between Mac, iPhone, and iPad versions of Accordance, so you do not need to keep separate notes files on your devices.
Accordance offers a robust set of highlights that can be customized with a variety of colors and patterns. This level of customization makes Accordance great for creative individuals, but also for those who are interested in inductive Bible study. You can also save multiple highlight files as well as sync your highlights between Mac, iPhone, and iPad versions of Accordance.
User modules allow you to add your own content into Accordance. This can be personal content you have created or resources that you have permission to use. User modules are integrated into the rest of your Accordance library, which means they can be opened from the library and are fully searchable.
User Bibles allow you to add your own Bible translation into Accordance. This feature supports Unicode characters, allowing for User Bibles in non-Western languages such as Russian or Chinese, and European languages with special characters.
User Tools can be commentaries, sermon prep notes, personal journals, or any other type of document that you would like to read and search in Accordance. You can even create User Tools from scratch in a custom edit window. This allows you to designate titles and subtitles within your User Tool for fast and easy browsing.
You can sync all of your modules, notes, and highlights between Mac, iPhone, and iPad versions of Accordance. This applies to modules you buy from our online store and also to user content that you create within the Accordance app. This means you can take notes and highlights on your iPad while studying at a coffee shop and later sync them with Accordance on your desktop.
The Parallels window lets you search and explore the many parallel passages that occur throughout Scripture. Accordance even sorts these parallels into searchable categories.
Accordance offers a powerful diagramming tool that allows you to break down the sentence structure and syntax of Bible verses. For example, this tool can help you identify poetic structures in the Hebrew Bible or help you observe the Apostle Paul’s flow of thought in the book of Romans. This tool provides all the necessary symbols for advanced sentence diagramming and even offers a few shortcuts along the way. For example, the diagramming tool will automatically color code the parts of speech in grammatically tagged Greek or Hebrew texts.
Our award-winning help system makes it easy to learn more about the features and capabilities of Accordance. Whether you are a beginner who wants help getting started or a power user who wants to learn advanced techniques, Accordance Help makes it easy to find and access this information. The help system is organized topically for those who would like a systematic approach to learning Accordance, or you can search for help in specific areas as you have need.
