New Rabbinics CD-ROM

February 09, 2010

Rabbin+CD-ROMThe Babylonian Talmud is now available together with other updated modules on the new Rabbinics CD-ROM.

We have assembled three distinct groups of modules on this disk. Each module can be unlocked on its own or within a bundle with a single code. The entire CD can be purchased with an Unlock All option. The more you buy, the more you save!

Talmud Modules: add-on bundle only $320

New Talmud Bavli (untagged Hebrew) (T-BAV-F) $180

The electronic text of the First Printed Edition of the Talmud is organized according to standard Bavli referencing: tractate name, folio number, and folio side. The module currently includes only 16 of the 21 tractates but will be updated at no additional charge as tractates are added.

The Babylonian Talmud: A Translation and Commentary, Translated by Jacob Neusner, Tzvee Zahavy, et al. (Talmud-N and T-BAV-EF) $220

Because of the complexity of this Translation of the Talmud, it is set up as a Tool module rather than a Text module within Accordance. For maximum flexibility and usage there are two referencing systems provided in two separate modules:

The reference system in the Talmud-N module follows that of the Mishnah. It will scroll in parallel with the separate Mishna modules when viewed in the Search window.

The new T-BAV-EF module has the same contents as Talmud-N, but is divided into the standard Folio referencing used in most printed Talmuds. It will scroll in parallel with the T-BAV-F Hebrew Talmud module in the Search window.

The upgraded Talmud-N and accompanying T-BAV-EF are free to current owners of Talmud-N with the purchase of this CD-ROM.

Tannaitic-5 Modules: add-on bundle only $210

The 5 recently released tannaitic texts (untagged Hebrew) are offered on the Rabbinics CD-ROM in a single bundle. Credit will be given for modules purchased before the release of this CD-ROM. Additional versions of the Mekhilta, Sifra, and the Sifre to Numbers and Deuteronomy are organized by piska rather than by verse reference so that the text can be accessed either way. The downloadable installers for these texts have also been updated. The bundle also includes the Tosefta.

Mishna Modules: add-on bundle only $140

This bundle is identical to the previously offered bundle on the Scholar's Collection: Tagged Kaufman MISH-T, untagged Eshkol MISHNA, and MISH-N (Neusner's translation).
