Last night my daughter, Bethany, informed me that she was thinking about entering our iPad 2 Giveaway. I told her that as the daughter of an employee, I didn’t think she was eligible to enter. Sure enough, the contest rules clearly state:
Employees of the Company and members of their immediate family are not eligible to participate and win. The term “immediate family” includes spouses, siblings, parents, children, grandparents, and grandchildren, whether as “in-laws,” or by current or past marriage(s), remarriage(s), adoption, co-habitation or other family extension, and any other persons residing at the same household whether or not related.
Yikes! I’d say that’s pretty all-encompassing. But Bethany has never been one to take defeat easily. Without missing a beat, this is how she responded to the disappointing news:
“What?! For all I know, you’re not my real father!”
