She Can't, But You Still Can

Last night my daughter, Bethany, informed me that she was thinking about entering our iPad 2 Giveaway. I told her that as the daughter of an employee, I didn't think she was eligible to enter. Sure enough, the contest rules clearly state:

Employees of the Company and members of their immediate family are not eligible to participate and win. The term “immediate family” includes spouses, siblings, parents, children, grandparents, and grandchildren, whether as “in-laws,” or by current or past marriage(s), remarriage(s), adoption, co-habitation or other family extension, and any other persons residing at the same household whether or not related.

Yikes! I'd say that's pretty all-encompassing. But Bethany has never been one to take defeat easily. Without missing a beat, this is how she responded to the disappointing news:

"What?! For all I know, you're not my real father!"

Alas, even if my daughter disowns me, that still won't get her an iPad 2, since she still resides at my household. Aren't you glad that what is out of reach for Bethany is still well within your reach? Don't miss your opportunity to do what she cannot: Enter our iPad 2 Giveaway today.

Great!  That means I can't enter either!  Maybe you're not really my brother.  Tell Bethany she can come live with me.  Ha ha!
