San Francisco Training Seminar This Friday
Whenever we travel to another city for a conference, we make it a point to offer at least one Accordance training seminar while we're there. But when you're exhibiting at conferences as all-consuming as the annual meetings of the Evangelical Theological Society (ETS) and the Society of Biblical Literature (SBL), working in a training seminar can be a challenge. In recent years, we've decided the best day to offer a seminar is the Friday when ETS is drawing to a close and SBL is about to begin. That way, anyone staying through the close of ETS or arriving early for SBL will be able to attend. We also get a fair number of locals who come just for the seminar.
For the last several years, I've been privileged to teach the ETS/SBL seminar, and I always enjoy it. Because this group always has a large number of scholars and students, I usually cover Accordance's original language capabilities in greater depth than I can at other seminars. Nevertheless, the morning session is still devoted to covering the basics of the Accordance interface and will be of benefit to everyone. In fact, even the most scholarly users find that there are tips in the morning session that can simplify their workflow and make them more efficient.
Another reason I enjoy teaching the ETS/SBL seminar is that it means I get out of having to break down our ETS booth and set up our SBL booth. I've got enough war stories of schlepping big boxes from one exhibit hall to another, so I'm happy to let the younger guys take over! Sorry guys, I'd love to help, but I'm all tied up with this seminar…
This Friday's seminar will be held at the InterContinental Hotel in San Francisco from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. As always, our seminars are free and a tremendous way to learn how to go deeper with Accordance. If you'll be in the area and would like to attend, see this page for registration information. We've already got a large group, but we're always willing to squeeze in a few more.
