Lost amid the flood of new releases this Fall are two Zondervan books aimed at helping busy pastors reinforce their points with pithy quotes and interesting stories.

1001 Quotations that Connect and 1001 Illustrations that Connect offer just what their titles suggest, and they can each be searched by title, content, topic, author, or Scripture reference.

For example, let’s say you’re preaching a sermon on marriage. Search the Topics field of 1001 Quotations and you’ll find 19 quotes dealing with various aspects of marriage, including this little bit of wisdom:

To keep your marriage brimming,
With love in the loving cup,
Whenever you’re wrong admit it,
Whenever you’re right, shut up.

1001illus Do the same in 1001 Illustrations and you’ll find 54 illustrations tagged with that topic. Some of these are touching, such as the story about a couple facing the onset of Alzheimer’s. Other illustrations are humorous, while still others offer interesting statistics about marriage. Each quotation and illustration cites its source, making it easy to avoid the all-too-common sin of pastoral plagiarism. And of course, getting them into your sermon manuscript is as easy as drag and drop or copy and paste.

Both of these resources are currently discounted as part of our December Sale.
