Guide to Bible Study by J. W. McGarvey

Intended for the layman, this handbook “gives a brief summary of facts regarding the making and the purpose of the Bible; its chief divisions; short sketches of the various books, serving as introductions to their study; and various other material of an interesting and helpful sort to the reader and student of the Bible.”

J.W. McGarvey’s material has been used in seminaries of almost every major denomination in the United States. Many of his books are still being kept in print by multiple publishing houses. He was, during his life, called the “ripest biblical scholar in the world.”
