N.T. Wright’s commentaries are of great value for my work as a preacher. His commentaries offer more than exegetical details, he draws parallels to movies or other pieces of art or to stories that he expirienced himself. Doing this he is able to show how a certain biblical story (or any other type of text) can be heard as Word of God here and now, in western societies in the 21st century. Naturally one will find some explanations more helpfull than others, but all in all these books are an important ressource for anybody who wants to make God’s Word being heard loud and clear.
