This is a series I have used for over 15 years. All the volumes are most useful but like all series it has weaker and stronger volumes. I look at the 35 year old volume on Genesis and find it still one of the most useful volumes I have on it. This series is designed not to answer academic curiosities (though some will be answered for sure) but to give a strong theological look at how to best understand the text and what it has to say to us. Useful to preachers and lay students like myself I have no doubt the 43 volumes in this series will be ones you return to again and again to gain insight. It remains in my top 5 of favourite commentary series.
