The schedule is set for the inaugural Accordance Users’ Conference in the Dallas area September 24-25, and I’m really excited about the lineup of speakers, sessions, and panels we’re offering. In an attempt to capture the coolness of this conference in 140 characters or less, I posted the following summary on Twitter:

Abegg. Wallace. Olive Tree. OakTree. Mac. Mobile. Hands-on. Face-to-Face. Developers. Scholars. Pastors. Users. Cool! http://bit.ly/bTWWOn

Abegg, of course, refers to Dr. Martin Abegg, leading Dead Sea Scrolls scholar from Trinity Western University and developer of all the Qumran and Dead Sea Scrolls modules used in Accordance. Dr. Abegg will be giving a plenary presentation entitled, “Finding Elvis in the Dead Sea Scrolls.” I’m personally curious to see if he’ll end the session with, “Thank you. Thank you, very muuucchh!”

As if one renowned scholar wasn’t enough, Dr. Daniel Wallace of Dallas Theological Seminary will also be leading a plenary session. Dr. Wallace is the Executive Director of the Center for the Study of New Testament Manuscripts and will be talking about the Center’s work of discovering and photographing New Testament manuscripts. The expeditions Dr. Wallace has led sound reminiscent of Indiana Jones, so it should be fascinating to hear about what they’ve discovered.

Olive Tree refers to Olive Tree Bible Software, which will be joining us for a panel discussion about mobile Bible software. We’re just entering this field with our iPhone/iPad app development, but Olive Tree has been developing Bible software for mobile devices for years. We’re excited to benefit from their expertise and perspectives on the brave new world of mobile Bible study.

Of course, there will also be plenty of attention given to helping you get more out of Accordance on your Mac. With presentations and workshops designed to give Face-to-Face instruction and Hands-on training, we’re confident you’ll leave the conference as true Accordance power users.

Most of all, we’re excited to bring Accordance developers, scholars, pastors, and users of every kind together to socialize, network, and learn from one another.

See this page for more details on the conference along with the complete schedule. With this lineup, you won’t want to miss our first ever Accordance Users’ Conference.
