We are delighted to offer the ESV Study Bible for Accordance. Within a few weeks of its publication it became the best-selling Study Bible of all, and has been widely acclaimed for its scholarship and illustrations. In Accordance we have added links to many other texts and tools which are cited in the Notes, and included all the charts and maps in full color. Of course, every part of the text is searchable in an instant. Download this amazing resource for yourself, or give it to a friend.

In addition to the Study Notes of the ESV Study Bible, this product includes the ESV text, notes, and cross-references. If you already own the ESV Bible in Accordance (or the ESVS with Strong's numbers), you can add the Study Bible alone. If you prefer the Strong's numbers, you can also add the text with Strong's numbers to this item.

From the Publisher:
The ESV Study Bible was created to help people understand the Bible in a deeper way—to understand the timeless truth of God’s Word as a powerful, compelling, life-changing reality. To accomplish this, the ESV Study Bible combines the best and most recent evangelical Christian scholarship with the highly regarded ESV Bible text. The result is the most comprehensive study Bible ever published—with 2,752 pages of extensive, accessible Bible resources.

Created by an outstanding team of 95 evangelical Christian scholars and teachers, the ESV Study Bible presents completely new study notes, maps, illustrations, charts, timelines, articles, and introductions. Altogether the ESV Study Bible comprises 2 million words of Bible text, insightful explanation, teaching, and reference material—equivalent to a 20-volume Bible resource library all contained in one volume.

Why would someone that has a more comprehensive commentary consider a study bible? For me there are three reasons:
1. It is the perfect amount of information I want when I am using the Accordance app on my iPad in church.
2. It has some very useful background, timelines, maps and general introductory material to begin my study with.
3. It is very affordable given the amount of information provided.
Study bibles are really a combination of a bible handbook, an atlas, study notes and bible introductions. I use the ESV extensively, and as such this is my favorite study bible. I first purchased the ESV SB after watching Dr. J’s Podcast #2 which highlights the ESV SB in Accordance very well. The ESV SB has articles, maps and introductions that provide the reader a good overview and a starting point for bible study. I find that the ESB SB is balanced in the length and depth of the various articles and study notes. If I want more, I open a more in-depth resource, but ...

The ESV Study Bible in Accordance is separated into three volumes: The Study Bible, ESV Cross-References, and ESV Notes. These can easily be opened together in a single pane that will link all the resources together as you study in Accordance. However, in the IOS app, only one resource can be open at a time. I find this somewhat limiting however, I can change the resource to the ESV notes and cross-references however without too much difficulty. I did edit the IOS App library so the three resources are in a row and easy to change to quickly.
The ESV Study Bible is an affordable way to provide some excellent background, introductory and bible notes to your Accordance library and IOS app. I find it to be just the right tool to start with in my studies.

This is in my opinion, the best study bible in the market. It provides useful information for both the newer Christian and seasoned expositor. It was clear that the team of commentators took time to work through nearly every verse, providing the historical background where needed and exploring differing theological views - sometimes offering why a particular view is preferred.

But what helps this text shine at its brightest is the Accordance user interface in accordance which is intuitive, elegant and space sensitive. Since the commentary from the Study Bible scrolls together with the Scripture, the user can get the information he or she needs without extra clicks or leaving the translation(s) he or she has picked. It offers a quick look-up for exegetical work and a good taster as to what excellent exegetical commentaries should provide.

Useful charts, timelines and attractive full-color diagrams help to draw the reader in the context of the Biblical text as well as provide useful overviews that may serve to bolster sermon or Bible Study preparation. The information is in rich supply but at no point overwhelms or alienates the reader by being too detailed or scholarly.

Prospective buyers may wish to note that the Study Bible notes are almost bereft of application pointers. The focus of this Study Bible is to provide insight into the Biblical text with some attention given to the original languages and it does this extremely well for a Study Bible so much so that with the new insights drawn, application pointers often seem to naturally flow out from the text to the reader. As a result, the reader is inspired to pursue deeper homiletical and exegetical studies with the wealth of information presented. After all, isn't that what Bible Study is all about?

My final word: Get it. Fall in love with the Bible again. You won't regret you did. I didn't.
